eProc installation 

download the installation file

To start the installation process, perform the following steps:

  1. verify that the system requirements.

  2. Type the following URL – http://update.eproc2.com/eProcSetup.exe.

  3. Save and open the exe file.

  4. follow the instructions as they appear on the installation screen.

  5. the installation should be only on the eProc application server.

Database Creation

To create a database, perform the following steps:

  1. Follow the instructions as they appear on the Wizard.

    Creating a new Database requires a valid License which you receive when you purchase.

  2. Select one of three options:

    • Connecting to existing Database – connect to an existing database, a database shared path will need to be provided.

    • Create Database Automatically (Recommended) – automatically will create the main directory of the database including all sub-directories, shared directory, share permissions and security permissions using eProc predefined settings.

    • Create Database – using this option will require to provide the path of the manually created database and to manually set the require share, share permissions and security permissions.

Version Update

To update the version, perform the following steps:

  1. Type the URL – http://update.eproc2.com/eProcSetup.exe.

  2. Save and open the exe file.

  3. Follow the instructions as they appear on the installation screens and the information displayed on the Update Database Window.

    During version update the management console should be closed.

Update Database Window 

During the process the database is checked, and all instance's policies are updated after the upgrade is performed, all the updates appear in green and if there are any error messages they will appear in red.

The errors marked in red should be handled manually, if there are no error the Update Database window is closed automatically.

 

The update log can be saved as a Log file (.txt), all the updates between the versions can be viewed on the Release Notes window.

Release Notes Window 

To view the release notes:

  • Enter the Settings menu.
  • Chose the Updates menu.
  • Open the Release Note Window.
  • View the Changes.

            If the release notes indicate that there has been a change to the Relays or to the Brokers (Database/Commit) the user is required to reinstall the relays and/or the brokers
            (Database/Commit).

            Setting the Working Version is the first action the user must do in the management console after the update process is complete.

Set Working Version 

To set a working version perform the following steps:

  • Open the Instances Pane.
  • Right Click the Instance Pane.
  • Select the Set Working Version option.

The Set Working Version window appears:

  • Select the instance.
  • Select the working version.
  • Click OK to confirm.
  • Right Click the Instance Pane and then Commit Changes.

Delete Working Version 

To delete working version, perform the following steps:

  • Go to settings > delete working version.
  • Check the box near the version that you want to delete.
  • Click delete. 
     


System Requirements

Servers

eProc requires two Microsoft servers.

Application Server

Contains the eProc main installation and database, all version upgrades are performed on this server

The server resources should include:

  • Microsoft Server x64 operating system version 2008 (or above).
  • .NET Framework 4.5.1 (or above).
  • 4 CPU cores.
  • 4 GB RAM.
  • 10 GB HDD.

Reporting Server

Contains all the information received from the managed machines and the latest working version,
 settings and policies.

The server resources should include:

  • Microsoft Server x64 operating system version 2008 (or above).
  • .NET Framework 4.5.1 (or above).
  • 8 CPU cores.
  • 8 GB RAM.
  • 10 GB HDD.

        When deploying eProc on LAN with less than 3,000 machines, the Reporting Server can also act as the Application Server.

Clients

  • Client agent requires .NET Framework 3.5.
  • Different anti-virus programs may recognize some of eProc programs as viruses (false positive)
     
    It is a requirement to exclude eProc program from the anti-virus programs to avoid damage to eProc components. System Components
